Digital transformation in manufacturing is sporadic by nature — a plant here, a function there, a supplier interface somewhere else — and it rarely adds up to a picture anyone can see at a glance. That fragmentation mirrors the industry itself: distributed, specialised, hard to compare.
To consolidate that scattered signal we went through more than 70 publicly accessible podcast episodes with the operators running these programs, and coded every concrete initiative against a common taxonomy. The map below plots every one of those initiatives by where the work sits and what kind of technology it uses — each project placed on its own, so a company appears wherever its work lands.
